プログラマなるには

新人研修を担当しているが手応えが弱い。もしかしてプログラムが好きではないかもしれないと思う人もいる。

好きにならせることは出来ない。好きになってもらえるようにしているつもりだけどどこまで上手くいっているのだろう。

みんなただ私が教えることだけに頼っているようだ。きっと分からないのは始めていないからだと思う。

「学問に王道無し」であるが「意志あるところに道開く」である。

How can I say 「学問に王道なし」 in English?
First my inspiration is following:
There is no short-cut to get someting.
I thought "Royal road" does't fit my expression.

Excite says following:
There is no royal road to learning.

I googled by "英語　ことわざ　学問に王道なし" and get following:

Realy? royal road makes sense!

And I googled by "define: royal road". I get four site. Three site treat 'bout
high way of Persian Empire. Another one is web dictionary and it says:
royal road (an auspicious way or means to achieve something) "the royal road to success"

It seems that "royal road" is equal to 「王道」

Google Japan offered me the other expression:
There's no shortcut to good scholarship. You just have to study hard every day.

I'm affraid that "royal road" is different to 「王道」, but
the expression is match my meens.
